Some searches consider your location, with general and precise location data shared with third-party providers to improve accuracy. Powered by GPT-3.5, GPT-4, and GPT-4o models, SearchGPT is launching as a prototype for a limited group of users and publishers, with plans to integrate features into ChatGPT. OpenAI aims to make finding information faster and easier with real-time web data.

Google Enhances Gemini AI Chatbot with Global Rollout and Powerful New Features
Google is enhancing Gemini, its AI-powered chatbot, to stay competitive with Anthropic and OpenAI. The updated Gemini 1.5 Flash model, launching Thursday, will be available on web and mobile in 40 languages across 230 countries. This lightweight model promises improved quality, latency, reasoning, and image understanding. Additionally, it may reduce operational costs. Gemini's context window expands to 32,000 tokens, enabling better summarization and reasoning over longer texts. Previously exclusive to the paid tier, file uploads from Google Drive and local devices will soon be available to all Gemini users, making the platform more versatile and accessible.

Amazon Develops Custom Processors to Cut Nvidia Costs and Boost AI Performance
Amazon is developing its own processors to reduce dependency on expensive Nvidia chips for its AI cloud services at AWS. By creating homegrown chips, Amazon aims to provide more cost-effective solutions for complex calculations and massive data processing. This move mirrors similar efforts by rivals Microsoft and Alphabet. Amazon's Annapurna Labs, acquired in 2015, is leading the initiative. The company’s established Graviton chips, now in their fourth generation, and newer AI chips, Trainium and Inferentia, promise significant cost and performance improvements—up to 50% less expensive compared to Nvidia. AWS's recent Prime Day saw record sales, utilizing 250,000 Graviton and 80,000 AI chips.
