Eric Schmidt Warns of AI Misuse and “Extreme Risk”
Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt cautioned that AI misuse poses an “extreme risk,” potentially leading to catastrophic harm. Speaking to BBC Radio 4, he warned that rogue states like North Korea, Iran, and Russia could weaponize AI for attacks, including biological warfare. Citing the 9/11 mastermind as an example, he stressed concerns about AI being exploited by extremists.
